Life as a Senior Seasonaire

How did I ever get started in this??? Well about ten years ago I stumbled across Hucksters whilst purchasing my first pair of ski boots At that time I had only been skiing two or three times, but I was already hooked, I duly turned up to meet the coach in Plymouth early on the Friday morning. I was immediately welcomed on to the coach by the whole group. From that point on I never looked back. I offered to stay on and help, as they say, the rest is history. I thoroughly enjoyed helping out and being welcomed into the Hucksters family, working with them, skiing together and even partying with them. Peak season helping led to life as a senior seasonaire!

Ever wondered what it would be like to do a ski season? Would it be a long holiday with lots of skiing and partying? or would it be really hard work? Travel to the Alps

Hucksters is one of very few tour operators who offer the option of coach travel to the French Alps for winter sports holidays. This year our service provider Shires International Travel are putting a brand new coach at our disposal. We understand that whilst we live in an era of lo-cost airlines, there is still scope for coach travel for the budget conscious, those who do not want to fly and those who want to make the most of their time on the slopes by travelling overnight to get to and from resort. For those for whom an extra day off work on a Friday is just not an option or who cannot get to our coach down in the south of the country or those with long legs we offer a scheduled transfer alternative to get you to and from the airport.

Lifts

Lifts

Our passion for downhill skiing or snowboarding by necessity requires us to invest every year in a ski pass. Without access to the lifts our sport would become something very different and considerably harder work! Cross-country or Nordic skiing is all very well and good but it is the exhilaration of travelling downhill under our own momentum that brings us back to the mountains year after year. Ski passes are not an insignificant part of the cost of our winter holiday so what exactly are we getting for the price of our pass? Well rather a lot in Les Arcs and the Paradiski with plans for even more in the future.

My girlfriend and I stayed in Vallandry with Hucksters for 6 days and had a great time with a very friendly environment including not only the staff, but also the other customers. By dispensing with things such as towels and complimentary toiletries (bring your own) and guaranteed en suite bathrooms, Hucksters has managed to create accommodation that is definitely communal and cheap but in that no-frills way that makes you feel pretty smug at the money you are saving.
