6 Gift Ideas for Skiers

The 25th of December is just around the corner, which means you should probably start your Christmas shopping soon! It’s better to be prepared than struggle last minute after all. However, if you have a friend, family member or loved one who is an avid skier, you may be puzzled choosing the right gift. Or maybe you’re struggling writing your own Christmas list!

That’s why we’ve put together six gift ideas for skiers, to save you a headache.

Hand Warmers

A perfect stocking filler – hand warmers make for a thoughtful and price-conscious gift for skiers. When their hands start to feel the chill through their gloves, and they remember the hand warmers you got them, they’ll be eternally thankful.

Ski Socks

Ski Socks

You may be thinking “nobody like socks for Christmas” – but these aren’t your average socks! Ski socks are great but often overlooked by some skiers. Think of how grateful they’ll be that you introduced this wonderful accessory to them! What makes them so good? They’re warm, extremely comfortable and built for feet hitting the slopes. Ski socks are a gift worth giving skiers this Christmas.

Neck Warmer

Another great gift idea for skiers when sticking to a low budget is a neck warmer. Not only are neck warmers fantastic for keeping your neck and the lower half of your face warm, but they are also available in wide variety of colours, prints and styles. You could even give them a few in different colours for a bit of variety.

Ski Goggles

Ski Goggles

Ski goggles make a fantastic gift for skiers at Christmas. Important things to keep in mind when buying goggles: the lens colour, anti-fogging and safety features such as polycarbonate lenses. The lens colour dictates visibility in certain lighting conditions, for example, yellow, amber and gold lenses are suitable for low light conditions, whereas darker tints, such as dark green, copper and dark grey are more suited for bright light. You can also purchase goggles with interchangeable lenses, perfect when lighting changes suddenly. The trick here is don’t be afraid to ask for guidance when choosing – also, you’ll need to source the right size for the giftee subtly, but we’ll leave that up to you. Remember to get a gift receipt in case they don't fit!

Action Camera

Skiing is great, but it’s even better when you capture all the action on camera! You’ll want to make sure you get them something waterproof and robust, and it’s probably a good idea to buy a chest harness or helmet mount as well! Price varies drastically on action cameras, with main brands typically quite pricey, but well worth the cost. However, there are also fantastic options for those with a more tight budget! Not only is it fun to capture, but action cameras also help skiers work on their technique, as they can watch back the footage and pick up on their mistakes. All of this makes an action camera a fantastic choice of gift for skiers.
