The lifts and ski passes of the Paradiski area

It is important to us here at Hucksters that our holidays remain affordable, which is why we keep the prices as low as we possibly can. Unfortunately one of the things we cannot control is the exchange rate and the impact that has upon your holiday expenditure. This year the lift pass price has increased, we are doing our best to mitigate the price increase by offering you the opportunity to buy a 6 day Les Arc pass before the 30th September at £209. The public tarriff price for the 6 day pass will be €265 and we will be selling the pass after the end of the month for £220, which will still represent a saving on the public price. Buying through us does save you having to visit the lift pass office when you arrive as your passes will be here in resort waiting for you. What however do you get for the price of your pass? Well the Paradiski area has 141 lifts, 260 pistes and 425 kilometers of ski terrain, of which 12 pistes are green, 135 pistes are blue, 77 pistes are red and 37 pistes are black. In terms of altitude you can ski from 1,250 meters to over 3,250 meters and 70% of the ski terrain is above 2,000 meters making it one of the most snow sure resorts of the French Alps. Last season for the first time the Les Arc 6 day pass included an opportunity to take the Vanoise lift across and spend a day in La Plagne and many of our guests took advantage of this to ski La Plagne for the first time. Although it is a lot of money, we do get the second largest linked ski areas in Europe on our doorstep and a modern lift system that is constantly being improved.

The lift company has an on going policy of upgrading and replacing lifts. Two seasons ago in Arc 1800 three lifts were upgraded or replaced to provide the new Dahu, Carreley and Villards lifts. Carreley certainly opened up a new route to Arc 2000 avoiding the queues at peak season on the Transarc. This year it is the turn of a lift at 1950 to be revamped. The Pre Saint Esprit lift is being replaced with a faster 6 person chair with heated seats and a tinted plastic cover. At a cost of over 10 million, this lift is also being extended up into the Arc 2000 bowl to link with the exisiting Plagnettes lift. This will considerably reduce the pressure on the Arcabuille and open up the runs down the Vallee de L'Arc. A new base station with a picnic area and toilets will be very welcome, we suspect this will not prevent a visit to the Pre Saint Esprit restaurant situated beside the lift for a hot chocolate and warm up by the fire! Future plans include replacing the Charmettoger and the Comborciere lifts in 2018 and upgrading both the Transarc and the Funiculaire. La Plagne is in the process of building a whole new village above Plagne Centre to be called Aime 2000 and this is going to lead to a new link by cable car in future with Aime and the railway station in the valley below. Whilst it may be a necessary evil in terms of the cost of your winter holiday, we are sure you will agree that here in Les Arc what you get in return for the cost of the pass is good value in terms of the standard and quality of the lifts and the access the pass provides to the extensive ski terrain.

We just wanted to say, we had the most marvellous time in the Mont Blanc recently. We were very happy in the Petit Mont Blanc Annexe & the staff were absolutely fantastic. They all went out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic holiday.

My girlfriend and I stayed in Vallandry with Hucksters for 6 days and had a great time with a very friendly environment including not only the staff, but also the other customers. The room was also nice, warm and very functional with the slopes only few meters away from the chalet. Therefore and acc...

Just a quick note to thank you all for hosting the Bennett clan the other week, we had a great time and are hoping to return with Hucksters for the new year.

Always wear your helmet and be mindful of the position your skis are pointing when carrying them around to avoid accidentally hitting anyone.

The staff were more like friends than employees and knew the area very well. Can't fault them. They sorted an issue with my wife's ski pass with as little stress as was possible. To start your day of skiing one had only to walk about 20m from the door, pop your skis on and off you go. You could eit...
