Nature brought the first really big dump of snow for this winter on Sunday night and Monday morning covering the resort and turning it back into a beautiful Winter Wonderland. As the snows stopped the temperatures dropped and technology took over. The cannons were running all Monday night and Tuesday morning to produce mounds of snow. As the forecast for the next few days remains clear and cold with more snow to come at the weekend, the use of the snow cannon now can only mean one thing, that the snow is here to stay! The clever people behind the running of the mountain only make snow when they know they can keep it, as there is really no point in making it and then watching it disappear when the weather warms up! So hurrah for nature and man working in tandem to get our season off to a great start on the slopes.
