The mountains are calling you this Summer
The mountains really do come alive during the summer with vibrant green landscapes and blue skies overhead. Yesterday some of our team enjoyed a hike in Serre Chevalier and what a day it was for a walk! We took the Serre Ratier Gondola up to the mid point and then the Grand Serre up to 2,500m before walking down to Chantemerle (1,350m). Of course we took a break and stopped for a drink at one of our favourite winter spots - Cafe Soleil.
This month we're very spoilt to have the Tour de France route bypass our chalet in Briançon on 20th July during Stage 18 of the race. Who will you be backing to win? As we write, Chris Froome leads with the Yellow Jersey. Before that we mustn't forget Bastille Day on 14th July. One of the biggest events in the French calendar, this national holiday celebrates the country's revolution and storming of the Bastille. This year the holiday falls on a Friday so everyone will definitely be in the party mood! Plenty of activities will be organised so everyone will be in good spirits. Roll on the weekend!
This summer Serre Chevalier and Vallandry offer the perfect summer escape. Whether you're seeking an activity packed holiday hiking, cycling, kayaking, rafting, paragliding or climbing (to name but a few of the activities you can enjoy here), or simply exploring the local villages, towns and attractions (Monetier has the most amazing thermal spa which is just 10 minutes from us in Villeneuve), there is plenty to enjoy in the Alps. There is also a golf course in nearby Montgenevre and both horse-riding and outdoor tennis facilities just a few metres from our chalet. This picturesque area is truly a photographer`s delight and many of the ski lifts are open during the summer so all visitors can easily access everything the mountains have to offer.
B&B is available at our chalets in Serre Chevalier and Vallandry from £49 for 3 nights and 7 nights at £99 per person (based on 2 sharing). Interested in finding out more? Email email@example.com for details or ring Julie on 07515 985 107 or Chris on 07740 062 796. See you in the mountains!
